This day-long workshop has specific learning outcomes which are designed to achieve a balance for Native women living and working in two worlds (the Native world and non-Native world). Those learning outcomes include:
- Recognizing the difference between passive, aggressive, and assertive behavior & communication.
- Developing an understanding on how gender and culture can create obstacles toward effective communication.
- Working toward assertive behavior is working toward respect.
- Learning to communicate respectfully – with honor.
- Establishing how to better communicate in the workplace.
- Emphasizing how information and techniques help with communication at home.
- Establishing positive processes to deal with criticism, stress, and disappointment.
- Understanding how saying “No” is a form of respect.
